Overthinking.

A burden we all face at some point in our lives.

Precisely speaking, MY overthinking.

.

.

.

They say, overthinking is the biggest waste of time.

I say it's a double-aged sword.

but, which one is more considered?

Is it a blessing?

or

A curse?

.

.

.

As a part-time over-thinker I can conclude that overthinking is only a blessing when it is providing helpful insights and a curse when it is harmful. However, I often deal with the latter.

Boy, it's really hard when small things makes you overthinking and the only solution is to confront or write it down for the sake of maintaining your sanity. So, instead of confronting that person with knife in their throat I chose to write my thoughts here and brush it off with "it is what it is".

Yes, at the end of the day, I will choose to accept the situation.

Why?

Because, acceptance is peace.

When you accept that whatever bad thing they said to you was because of their childhood trauma and that you could never change the future then peace will come after.

I know it's hard.

Til this day I still overthinking about silly things. The easy ones, why my friend ignoring my texts or the consequences I might face later because of my bad actions. However, the more I apply this practice into my life the more I can maintain my sanity and reduce my anxiety especially about things I cannot control.

You don't have to understand or tolerate but you can accept it.

But remember, this obviously isn't the cure but another way to reduce it. Somehow, it works for me.

As one overthinker to another, stop wasting your time overthinking and let it eat you inside out. If you feel like confronting someone will make you feel better then do it. If you think sending those confession text to your crush makes you feel better then do it. In this case, you need to accept whatever happens after you send those texts. Rejection or acceptance, either one, you need to make peace with it. It’s about pushing through discomfort in pursuit of your happiness.

.

.

.

You will never stop overthinking from ever happening but trust me it’s way better reducing it than enduring.

Reminder to myself too, if you can’t fight the fear then do it scared. Whatever comes after, you know what to do.

*wink*

Yours until the next entry,

D.
